Painting Description

A group of area artists meet for lunch on an irregular basis, at Mike Roth’s studio. The group varies from week to week from time to time. We are all professional painters who make our living from our art. Over pizza and beer we decry, exhort and exalt in the scene around us. Occasionally we go out for some field painting and it is from a session in 1998 that this painting springs. Being essentially lazy, we choose a site near the road so that we do not need to tote our gear far. This once beautiful stone house is near highway #7 just on the west side of Guelph, Ontario. You can easily see this former family home as you drive by on this much discussed road.
