Painting Description

We have a good friend who lives on a farm west of Hawkesville. This Old Order Mennonite lady grows hollyhocks that seem to reach to the sky. Her giant blooms against a white board fence started off this design. I say design because I have treated this subject in quite a modern colour patch way. I believe that any subject can call forth a huge range of treatments and I enjoy that exploration.
