Painting Description

This view of an April farm road was painted in the conservatory of the house that we had rented in a small Kentish village. The quickly changing weather that spring of 1998, the wettest spring on record, made painting in the countryside quite a risk, so I found that retreating to the conservatory in our back garden with photos that I had just taken of the neighbourhood was a more satisfactory weather solution.
