Cotswold Street near Broadway
Painting Description
This rendition of a country village lane is unusual for me. I am normally attracted by sharp contrasts created on bright sunny days. This subtly lighted version is probably an accurate portrait of how this bit of road looks on most days. The pale sunlight in the foreground does promise a breaking sun which has not quite arrived and, given Britain’s changing maritime climate, may never develop.
