Painting Description

This stone cottage set among a stand of trees is typical of the Cotswolds, a particularly picturesque area in Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire, U.K.

Having spent several U.K. vacations in the Cotswolds, I was drawn to this traditional small stone cottage which is of the type that we sometimes rent while on holiday. As I often do, when dealing with snapshots from Google street view, I have elminated the road choosing to focus on the stone house. I have greatly reduced the impact of the trees behind the house, inferring them rather than describing them in any detail. Just another personal choice of what makes this painting mine.
