Painting Description

This picture has an almost Russian quality to it. Perhaps it shows that I”ve watched too many films about the Russian winter. These actors in my drama are of course local, as is the setting, now within the borders of my city, Waterloo.

Although my paintings are often basically landscapes with some activity in them, here I focus almost totally on the subject. After all these years of painting, I still discover the new within the familiar.
