Chapel, Chateau de Roquetaillade
Painting Description
A small flower bed fronts on this Chapel at the Chateau near Bordeaux.
We were bused to this fort which was part of a tour from a Gironde cruise. The first earth and timber fortifications were supposedly built by Charlemagne as he advanced to the Pyrenees. In 1306 permission was given to build a new castle which has been extended and restored through the centuries. I found this small Chapel to be more appealing than the large stark Chateau. I can never tell what will appeal to me to paint.
