Painting Description

While painting with a group of Quebec artists in Gaspé, I learned to know a man from the Eastern Townships, who only painted small rural Quebec farms. If we went to an area where he saw no down-at-the-heels collection of agriculture buildings, his paint box did not even get opened. I thought that a great shame. He could have painted other things, but his world, that world, was all that moved him. His single mindedness did however direct my eye to a group of farm buildings such as this.
