Painting Description

This montage was created to celebrate teachers, both past and present. The commissioner is an organization dealing specifically with teachers.

I designed this painting to show various aspects of teaching in Ontario, both in the Public sector and the Catholic system, from the past into the future. Archival photos along with present-day material were combined to create an image that culminates in the graduation of a student. Much attention was given to the multicultural aspect of education today and to the many areas of pedagogy, so as to fairly represent and acknowledge the changing role of teachers.
