Painting Description

We were unexpectedly able to visit Cawdor Castle, of Shakespeare fame, after our cruise ship made an unexpected stop at Invergordon, Scotland, due to damage from a storm the previous day. This castle is small enough that you could easily imagine living here just as the owner does for half of the year. Although the gardens were past their best, we still thought them attractive and the whole experience charming and romantic.
