Painting Description

The interior of the National Cathedral in Berlin is classical in style but rather restrained not only in colouration but also in decoration. I”m not sure whether this slight severity speaks of the Teutonic personality or the Lutheran attitude of revolt against the church of Rome. Certainly this building is quite different in tone from St. Peter’s in Rome.
