Painting Description

Sunday afternoon, a double carriage turns tentatively onto Benjamin Road in North Waterloo. After an ample traditional meal of beef, potatoes, vegetables and several types of dessert, this family heads west towards their farm. An additional passenger occupies the passenger side of the front seat. The driver always sits on the right side of the bench so that he can see the edge of the road. The hour-long drive will be a time for conversation and a chance to view the condition of the fields.
