Painting Description

This Spanish-style church reminds me of my church drawings from Spain and Southern California. With its back to the mountains, this pretty structure stands aloof on several plinths, elevating it above the everyday bustle of the streets. Under the baking Mexican sun, it offers a cool cocoon. The number of people within suggests a very devout group of travellers, but I suspect these tourists were attracted more by the temperature than the theology.
