Busiest Haying Day
Painting Description
In our urban lives we really do not appreciate the expression “make hay while the sun shines”. Because hay must go into the barn completely dry, the window of opportunity can be very small. Hay must lie in the field to dry, being turned to make sure the sun dries this crop. Only then can the loads of hay be placed in the mow. Wet hay will heat and cause a barn fire that could endanger everything.
