Painting Description

My attempt is to capture the atmosphere of everyday life in the charming city of Bordeaux, France. This back street is full of life and chatter.

This apparently simple view of Bordeaux proved to be rather complicated to paint. There are many factors going on in this piece and I fought very hard to keep it loose and to convey the feeling of a morning in an unimportant alley. I wanted to try to capture the everyday.
