Bluebell Walk
Painting Description
This bluebell carpet was a bonus for us on a walk that we took with the local thatcher. A former headmaster, this Renaissance man had a great interest in Roman times in Britain and vigourously pursued the uncovering of any bits that told of those times two thousand years ago. Fortunately he lived on a lane that ran parallel with the old Roman road in a hilly, still heavily treed part of Kent. We were delighted to see the ancient Roman mounds but where beauty was involved, this bluebell country alley won hands down. I experienced there the same delight that I feel when I discover a carpet of trilliums here at home.
