Painting Description

We were quite anxious to try the famous Bakewell tart at a restaurant just steps away from this pretty scene. The former Deborah Mitford, the Duchess of Devonshire, owns a pretty, small hotel quite near this town. We stayed at her hostelry for a few days and toured the countryside in that area, paying special attention to Chatsworth, the ancestral home of the Duke of Devonshire. It was not our first visit to that very special 1,000 acre property and I hope that it will not be our last.
