Blue Door
Painting Description
I am often attracted to small pieces of gardens, to a rain barrel, or to an architectural feature. This painting began its life inspired by the garden entrance of a pub called The Three Chimneys. As the painting progressed, I decided that the actual window would benefit from some enlarging, so too a bluing of the door would provide more contrast. I then added the brick walkway from another door in this building and oh, I did do a bit of garden improvement as well. But other than that, this is exactly as I found it.
