Painting Description

The subject of this work is a farm at the south-east edge of Kitchener, which is now lined with a subdivision. In this case I was however most interested in the staining technique that I used on absorbent board. In those early years I was desperately seeking to discover my voice technically but finding little success in that pursuit as I dabbled in so many approaches to my subjects. For me it was a ten-year journey to realize that a straight forward description of a subject is the best starting place.
