Painting Description

This painting resulted from a flower arranging competition in Ottawa, Ontario in 1990. I had been invited, along with several other artists, to paint one of the resulting bouquets. The Garden Writers of America had arranged this event, and as I was a member of that organization through my garden painting work, I was selected to participate. I chose to paint this bouquet, arranged by the wife of the then Dutch Ambassador, in a greatly off-central way to bring an unusual approach to an arrangement that was very symmetrical.
