Painting Description

This plein air painting gives much attention to reflections in this springtime creek decorated with wild flowers near Elmira.

Plein air painting allows for only an hour of painting before the light changes so much that the scene takes on a different shape. I find these sorts of sketches capture the flavour of a view but very few hard facts with which to build a finished piece.
