Painting Description

The snow covered Nith River bends in Philipsburg as it heads towards New Hamburg. A farmhouse on the hill keeps a silent watch.

I directed the viewer with contrast in colour and tone to examine this small bit of the river. The farmhouse on the hill adds a counterpoint but does not compete for the viewer’s attention.
