Painting Description

This view from within the sugar bush directs the viewer to the team and men making their way to the sugar shanty. The painting depends heavily on the contrast of the line of coloured trees against the gray of the sky. The horses and the men are a less important factor than in many of my other works where the focus is on the activity. This vista of sugaring puts a large emphasis on the sugaring house. This traditional style of sugaring off shacks are giving way to more modern metal-clad buildings.
