Bedlam, Times Square

Painting Description

Seldom have I encountered a subject as colourful as Times Square in New York City. Add to that the traffic and the noise of the crowds and you have the impression that I am trying to convey. This piece is a great example of the dictum “paint what you see not what you know”. Obviously painting a complicated scene like this means it is necessary for me to filter or edit the pieces to obtain the bits most important in this view. Once again … totally personal.
