Painting Description

This farm auction provided another opportunity for the local Mennonite farmers to get together. Household effects as well as farm machinery were the main items offered. A painting this complex takes a good deal of designing to arrive at a composition that I find satisfying. As with all my work, the arranging of many pieces of visual information is necessary. In my wish to give a piece the most impact, I invent nothing, but I do alter everything.
