Painting Description

Here the soft round shapes play off against the rigidity of the houses. A counterpoint of colour is evident in the ochre of the old stone against the green of the grass and trees. Beyond all the visual devices, this clump of houses and bridge appeals to the romantic sense in me. This scene from the Cotswold area demonstrates why I keep returning to these small villages.
