Painting Description

The name of this painting traces the members of the Martin family that own or have owned this sugar shanty on a farm just off Benjamin Road in Waterloo. I assume that in the near future this picture postcard farm will fall to the developers. After over 40 years of painting Mennonite life, I am hardly able to recognize the areas of land that were, when I started, Mennonite homesteads.
