Painting Description

Although this fellow was a farmer in Perth County, Ontario, I think that he would fit well into the rural landscape of Germany. When I saw him, I was reminded of wood carvings that I had admired on my first trip to Europe in 1967. I guess that I should not be surprised at that strong resemblance, since the Amish in this area came from Alsace-Lorraine.
