Painting Description

Bruges has a dreamlike quality. Quiet and serene, it is easy for me to understand the medieval time. Perhaps I delude myself with the idea of that ancient time being tranquil. As the hub of commerce and the seat of power this must have been a busy place, but I prefer my romantic notion of calm and quiet. Perhaps I have watched too many movies. I paint things the way I wish them to be, not as they really are.
