Here are the artist notes:

Since 1990 I have been mentoring a young woman from Paris, Ontario. Marsha and I occasionally go into the country for a spot of plein air painting, not as much now, since she has two young school-aged daughters. On this occasion we ended up at the edge of a field viewing this soon-to-be-demolished set of farm buildings. I felt that the patterns of the fields presented a large form against the angular firm edges of the barn.
