Woodpile, Benjamin Road

Painting Description

Of course when this wood was cut and stacked the bush was bare of leaves. During the winter is the time that wood is cut in preparation for a year of drying. This, now almost hidden woodpile, is the magazine for the ammunition to boil off next spring’s maple sap. In traditional farm life few things are instant or just in time. Preparation is often long and tedious.
