Painting Description

I painted this view in 1982 from the hotel window because the scene below had a comic toy town character to it. The congestion in this inner city square is, I am told, much worse than it was then. Apparently the city of Florence is limiting the number of tourists who can enter the centre of town and has long restricted tourist vehicles which cause damage to the fabric of the city.
