Two Ploughs at Work

Painting Description

Society could learn much about patience from horse-powered farmers. Slow but steady progress around a field, planing the remaining square until it disappears. Horse power also calls for periods of rest, and as an Amish farmer said to me, “I come to the end of a row where I rest the horse and I think”.
