Traditional Mennonite House

Painting Description

This is a watercolour style approach to a once smallish house near Linwood that has grown with each generation. I occasionally use this house as a background in a Mennonite work scene. Over the years I have developed a number of components that I use as incidental features in my work. This house is great for painting because it has an unpredictable shape. For me painting goes way beyond the subject’s facts and extends very much into shape, colour and pattern.
