Painting Description

We rented a cottage, in this Cotswold town for a week, from a local antiques dealer. The town is small but with many pubs, restaurants and plenty of shops. I love the wonky angles created as streets, many hundreds of years old, come together. Using a rough ground (canvas) gives this small painting a painterly feel as opposed to the slick touristy feel that a painter could so easily fall into. When we travel, our aim is to holiday and absorb as much of the flavour of the area as possible.
