Road through the Evergreen Woods

Painting Description

Although this painting features a country cutter, for me the landscape is the real subject. Perhaps because I started in my painting experience with landscape. I will always have a soft spot for this type of subject. I feel fortunate to have taken lessons with M.F. Kousal when I was a teenager. From him I developed a real love of landscape painting. You will notice that I do not do cutouts of figures or animals against a white background the way many wildlife artists do. No, for me the setting of the subject is far too important for some vague vast background.
