I was attracted to this scene because of the multiple activities that are going on. Doesn”t this remind you of the Habitant paintings of Krieghoff? When I was a young painter and just starting my career of painting the Mennonites, a newspaper writer dubbed me as Kitchener’s Krieghoff. Cornelius Krieghoff was a strong painter who produced many exciting paintings that flowed from his point of view. Each artist must produce things based on his personality. Krieghoff had his and I have mine.
