COMISSION TEXT

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police wanted a commissioned painting to celebrate "Canada 125" that would show their many activities across this land. Every detachment, almost 800 across the country, now is home to one of these reproductions. It was an interesting experience to see the working of the force, and of course, for me, of special interest was the musical ride and all that goes with that. As in all big organizations, there was a certain jostling for prominence in this piece. I tied to construct a multiple view that showed the various aspects of their work, both regionally and nationally.
