Only by hanging around Mennonite country can I hope to witness a bit of human nature like this. Actors say, “Don”t work with kids or animals”, but for me those are two of the best subject categories. I thought it quite surprising that this small girl was undeterred by the horse’s lack of response to her offering. She followed the horse back and forth along the fence several times before the mare finally trotted away to be with her foal.
