Leaving for Town

Painting Description

As I approach a subject, I am aware of the many possible takes or angles or hooks that can focus my painting. In this case, I thought that the counterpoint of the colours of the house and blossoming trees contrast strongly against the family in their horse-drawn carriage. The yellow-green that weaves throughout this small painting helps to intensify the buck red of the house and adds a strong flavouring to this visual stew.
