Horse Auction (B)
Painting Description
In the 1940s horses were transported by train from the Canadian West to points in Ontario. I am describing in this painting the arrival of just such a shipment to the Stockyards in Kitchener (Victoria/Frederick Streets area). The man with the cane, Addison B. Snyder, is the auctioneer. This painting was inspired by archival photos from the K-W Record.
