Painting Description

First Proof (Study, Preliminary #1) and First Proof (Sketch), Image # P0484 show different elements of the final painting, First Proof, Image #0500. As I worked with the sketches, I wrestled with the setting (see Open Gate) and in the end used some photos from the Ontario Agriculture archives to settle on the building and the setting.
