Fire Road, Kootenay Mountains

Painting Description

Roads of this type are quite common in the more remote regions. We had been staying at a friend’s house and wandered a great deal enjoying a different area. I have realized in hindsight that I had no business to be on that emergency road which should be free for real dangerous fire fighting traffic. I started with a loose drawing in sepia (brown) ink and then followed on top with watercolour. I seldom now use watercolour, preferring instead to just dilute acrylic paint.
