* This painting was featured in a full page spread for the Record written by my uncle about being in London for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee.
In the world of horses, a calm gentle horse is said to be bomb proof. These hulking Shires certainly must qualify. Two kettle drums, the sound of a band, and the roar of the crowds at the Queens Golden Jubilee were deafening, and yet these big fellows plodded on showing not even a shadow of upset.
