Door in a Garden Wall, Sissinghurst

Painting Description

This spectacular wall is only a part of the remaining structure of an old manor house that stood on this site. Vita Sackville-West used that old format to great advantage when she and her husband, Harold Nicolson, formed rooms for flowers of different colours. This garden in my opinion is one of the most enchanting spots in England.
