Painting Description

This sketch illustrates two things about the way that I work. First is the use of friends as models. The fellow in the foreground is my long-term friend, former student and former lawyer, Dave White. Over the years I have enjoyed including friends and family in my work. The second point is the large difference between the sketch and the finished painting, #0570 Company’s Coming. As the painting progressed, I made many changes and included two children who are friends in the composition.
