Bordering the Grand near Winterbourne

Painting Description

The pattern of crop rows draws the viewer’s eye back to the groups of trees that form a barrier between the field and the river. This view puts me in mind of watercolors painted by a fellow student at the Ontario College of Art in 1964. I think it strange how images sit in my mind almost like books on a library shelf ready for reading if prompted by a bit of light, a glimpsed view or even by a sound or smell. Near this view stands a skeletal iron bridge that has now become a rarity. I know time rolls on but a part of me wants to contain, retain many pieces from the past.
