Sea of Flax, Michichi, Saskatchewan

Painting Description

My father’s only sister, Reta, moved as a young bride in 1946 to Saskatchewan. Her son is now a veterinarian in Saskatoon, and so in 1989 when we travelled across Canada for the National Trust Company, we spent extra time in Saskatchewan. In many parts of this province we saw signs of giant farms that encompassed many old smaller spreads. This Saskatoon area farm speaks of a pioneer time not so very long ago in that province.
