Resting Spot, Mount Edith Cavell

Painting Description

This painting is a good example of focusing on the unusual. Here in this Rocky mountain beauty spot I have directed my eye to the tourists and then cars and not to the view. As an artist I am often torn because I see so many aspects that are worthy of top billing in a painting. This painting resulted from our travels across Canada to collect images for a large commission painting for the National Trust Company of Toronto. When we arrived home we had taken 3,000 photos, more than enough to satisfy our visual needs. See: Spirits of Canada (Image #1106).
