Near the Galeries Lafayette, Paris

Painting Description

This scene with the confusion of traffic, both pedestrian and auto, put me in mind of the many paintings of Paris streets that I had seen over so many years. Sometimes the actual views do match the actual places. It seems curious to me that although I have been in Paris several times, the first being in 1966, on this visit in the spring of 2008, there was this connection in my mind. We spent 5 days wandering around, enjoying the visual and culinary delights.
